I recently visited the school I worked at as a teacher for 16 years! I began at Ryders Green as a newly qualified teacher and progressed through to being a phase leader. Whilst there, I taught in nearly every year group, starting in Reception and teaching in year 6 for 10 years. I was so excited to return there after I left 10 years ago for a teaching job closer to home. There had been quite a few changes to the building but seeing many staff members that I used to work with, while I was growing into being an adult, was so special. The children loved my book and I had great feedback (attached) from the children and the teachers. I read ‘Counting Springer Spaniels’ to Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 in their amazing library. While in there, there was a constant stream of staff members popping in to see me. It was so lovely as I also managed to have a quick catch up with the staff. I also realised I was reading to some of the children of the children I had taught whilst I worked at the school! It was such a pleasure to return to a place that is close to my heart!
